Getting started
Connecting your GitHub account
On first launch, tap “Connect GitHub.” You’ll be taken to GitHub’s own sign-in page (not a shipped.-run page) to approve access. Once approved, you’re returned to the app automatically.
“Your GitHub token was revoked” / being asked to reconnect
This means GitHub itself invalidated shipped.’s access — usually because you revoked it from GitHub’s side (Settings → Applications → Authorized OAuth Apps), your GitHub password changed, or the authorization expired. Just tap “Reconnect GitHub” and sign in again; no data is lost.
Contribution/repo data looks wrong or incomplete
A few common causes:
- Private repo activity missing — shipped. needs the
repoOAuth scope (granted during connect) to see private-repo contributions. If you originally connected before understanding this, disconnect and reconnect to re-grant the full scope. - Just did something on GitHub and don’t see it yet — the app’s in-app view refreshes automatically every 3 minutes; widgets refresh every 15 minutes in the background. Reopening the app forces an immediate refresh.
- Using a GitHub Enterprise / self-hosted instance — shipped. only supports github.com accounts; Enterprise Server/Cloud instances aren’t supported.
Widgets
My widget shows old data
Widgets refresh on their own schedule (every 15 minutes) rather than instantly reflecting every GitHub action — this is normal WidgetKit behavior. Opening the app itself always shows current data.
A widget I added isn’t showing what I expected
Long-press (or right-click, on Mac) the widget → Edit Widget to change its content type and size — shipped. offers 11 Insights content types, 4 Metrics content types (a 5th, Punch Card, is still in progress), and a Circadian Clock widget, each independently configurable.
Local Workspace (Mac only)
Why don’t I see a Workspace tab on my iPhone/iPad?
Local Workspace scans folders on your Mac’s filesystem and uses your
Mac’s local git installation — both iOS-unavailable, so this tab is
macOS-only by design, not a bug.
Account & data
How do I disconnect my account?
Config → Disconnect. This immediately removes your stored GitHub access token from the device. See the Privacy Policy for full detail on what’s stored and where.
Is my data safe? Does shipped. have a server that sees my GitHub data?
No — shipped. has no backend/database for your data. Your GitHub access token and cached stats are stored only on your own device. Full detail in the Privacy Policy.
How do I delete all my data?
Delete the app. Everything shipped. stores (your token, cached contribution/avatar data) lives only on your device and is removed with the app. You can also revoke shipped.’s GitHub access independently, any time, from GitHub’s own Settings → Applications → Authorized OAuth Apps.
Purchases
How much does shipped. cost? Is there a subscription?
$2.99, paid once — no subscription, no in-app purchases, everything unlocked from first launch.
I bought it on my Mac — do I need to buy it again for iPhone/iPad?
No — one purchase is intended to cover macOS and iOS/iPadOS under the same App Store account (Universal Purchase).
System requirements
macOS 14.0 Sonoma or later, iOS/iPadOS 17.0 or later.
